A review on fabrication of inconel alloys using different additive manufacturing techniques

In present study, Inconel alloys fabricated by AM methods are discussed. Microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of Inconel 625 and Inconel 718 manufactured by AM techniques like SLM, EBM and WAAM are investigated. This includes defects in micro-structures, grain size and mechanical properties like microhardness, yield strength (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS). Effect of post processing like heat treatment, electropolishing are also discussed. Discussion on issues related to AM techniques along with recent developments in these techniques are also carried out.
