The Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) is established at IITRAM, Ahmedabad with the financial support of Government of Gujarat. The center aims to develop a state-of-the-art laboratory to carry out various academic and research activities in the domain of AI-ML. The laboratory established under the CoE will be equipped with the following resources:
1. Super computer facility
2. A high performance computing lab equipped with sophisticated GPUs, Storage Area Network, and high speed communication network to support the large scale projects in the domain of Machine learning, Deep learning, and Computer vision
3. Major equipment specified in the research proposals (see Research Activities below)
The following academic and research activities have been envisioned under the CoE of AI-ML:
Academic activities - Outreach activities
1. Introductory training programmes on AI-ML for students and practitioners
2. Short term training programmes on AI-ML for faculty members, research scholars and industry professionals
3. Expert talk Series on recent advancements and research in the domain of AI-ML
Research Activities
1. Research proposals will be invited from faculty members to conduct research in the domain of AI-ML. The center will provide support for:
- Man-power hiring
- Basic equipment (majorly consumables)– micro controllers, sensors, data set, etc.
- Major equipment will be purchased as a central resource pool and will be part of the AI-ML laboratory established under the center
- Cloud resource subscription
2. The center plans to provide funding support for research publications at top-tier venues (conference/journals) in the domain of AI-ML.
3. Masters and Doctoral research scholars of IITRAM working in the domain of AI-ML will be enrolled and supported under the center.
4. The center will also offer the Internship opportunities (e.g., summer internship) to students of IITRAM and other institutes.
