Aerospace and Defence
The Center of Excellence in Aerospace and Defence was established with a mandate to develop facilities and equipment, offer courses/electives/PG programs, and support technology incubation and product development in the domain of aerospace engineering.
Under the center, various laboratories for aerospace systems are in the process of being established. The facilities which will be available at the center include:
- Aerial Robotics Laboratory: Various UAVs, Propeller Thrust Stand, Indoor and Outdoor testing facilities
- Computational Aerospace Laboratory for high end simulations
- Gas turbine jet engine test rig
- Subsonic Wind Tunnel
- Smoke Generator with stand for model placement
- Pitot Tube with mountings, Digital Multi-Tube Manometer, and Six component balance with digital readout
- Measurement of Drag Forces and Lift Forces in Different Models
Academic activities - Outreach activities
- Minor Program in Aerial Robotics since 2019.
- Additional Learning programs in Aerial Robotics
- Guest lectures in Swarm Robotics
- Hands on training for students, faculty and industry participants on various equipment
- Short term courses, faculty development programs, conferences and workshops.

Research Activities
The center promotes research in the domains of control, propulsion, aerodynamics, and structures for aerospace systems.
- For active participation of faculties and students, regular research proposals will be invited from faculty members for research in the above themes of aerospace.
- Student internships and training will be encouraged at various laboratories of the center.
- Manpower buildup, equipment purchases and regular events to highlight activities of center will be organized.
- Development of academic programs in PG level and offering elective courses under various themes of aerospace will be done at the center.
