Amine and Sulfonic Acid Anchored Porous Silica as Recyclable Heterogeneous Catalysts for Ring‐Opening of Oxiranes

Amine and acid functionalized mesoporous MCM-48 and MCM-41 materials were prepared by post-synthetic modification. Their catalytic activity was investigated in ring opening of oxiranes using different nucleophiles, where excellent catalytic activity was observed with base-modified material. All the catalytic results are summarized in this manuscript and thorough optimization was carried out for each one of the reaction systems.
