To start with the Geoscience laboratory has procured commonly occurring rocks and minerals, which happen to be the principal earth materials. These include; (i) Set of minerals that exemplify typical properties such as ‘Mohs Scale of Hardness’, lustre, colour, streak cleavage, and specific gravity, (ii) Rock-forming minerals, (iii) Ore minerals, (iv) Industrial minerals and (v) Rocks and minerals used for construction: Dimension-stones, decorative-stones and aggregates.
A set of 3-D relief models depicting various geomorphic features have been added to the collection. Block diagrams are being prepared in the institute workshop.
