Electrical and Computer Science Engineering

The Electrical and Computer Science Engineering Department at IITRAM offers B. Tech, M. Tech and PhD programs in Electrical Engineering to cater the need of electrical engineers for industries and research organizations. The department impart a strong theoretical foundation and hands-on training to the students in the domain electrical engineering. The faculty members are highly competent and are actively involved in overall development of the students along with research and developments in various domains of electrical engineering and computer science.

The B.Tech program in Electrical Engineering provides the opportunity to students to learn modern courses in form of department electives such as artificial intelligence, IoT, Cloud computing, robotics, etc… and several interdisciplinary courses as open electives along with the core courses on Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Renewable energy, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Microprocessors. The curriculum is designed and also updated regularly as per the need of the industries and government policies. The laboratories in the department are equipped with most modern equipment and computational facilities with the latest updated software like MATLAB, ANSYS, Visual TCAD and many open source software. The B.Tech students are also provided infrastructural facilities to carry out their projects to explore and exploit the advanced technology and turn it in to a start-up. The department has strong interaction with industry leaders to understand the future challenges as well as expectations of the industry by organizing Expert talks, Seminars, Colloquium and Workshops.

The M.Tech program in Electrical Engineering provide opportunity to pursue dedicated courses wherein the students are exposed to most recent developments and futuristic trends in the Electrical Engineering domain. The courses offered in the program aim to develop research aptitude, technical skills and software skills to contribute in any research organization. The department offers M.Tech programs in two specializations namely

- Electrical Infrastructure
- Communication Infrastructure.

The M.Tech in Electrical Engineering program offers the advance electrical infrastructure courses on smart grid, micro grid, transmission and distribution, Renewable infrastructure, special electrical machines along with new tools on machine learning, signal processing. The M.Tech in Communication Engineering deals with the advance courses of communication engineering such as wireless communication, satellite communication etc.. The M.Tech program aims to develop the skills for analyzing, predicting and optimizing the engineering systems and solutions. The students are also encouraged to work on a research problem in their Master’s thesis and to present/publish the scientific articles in reputed conference/journal.
