POLICY AGAINST SEXUAL AND GENDER BASED HARASSMENT
IITRAM is committed to provide a safe, free and equal environment to all students, employees, and other persons affiliated to the Institute. To ensure this, IITRAM has formulated the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to prevent and address issues related to sexual and gender based harassment. The committee’s roles and responsibilities includes the following:
- Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment at the lnstitute
- Formulation of guidelines for protection of basic rights to live and work with dignity at IITRAM
- Dealing with complaints received by the ICC or referred to it by the Institute authority, about any kind of gender based harassment and act that affects the dignity of persons attached to the Institute
- Creating awareness about what constitutes sexual harassment including hostile environment harassment and quid pro quo harassment
- Consideration of measures against all gender based violence perpetrated against IITRAM members of all genders
- Organization of gender sensitization programmes and other measures for IITRAM community to ensure knowledge and awareness of rights, entitlements and responsibilities spelled out in the “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013”.
