    Trying to popularise gemmology in India. Work on the Cambay gem industry has been carried out and extended studies on the ancient gem industry in India. Conducted three orientation courses in Gemmology under the auspices of Geological Society of India. Worked on gem minerals used in Indian medicine with the Department of Rasasastra, Ayurved University, Jamnagar. Study of gem minerals has been undertaken with the help of BRNS-DAE and DST research projects.
  • Kumaun Himalaya:

    Investigated the structural, mineralogical and petrological aspects of Almora Crystallines. Doctoral work was further extended to develop new concepts on the evolution of Almora Crystallines.
